Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive ($50 or less) media player that will auto-play a video loop upon powering up?

I'd like to rear project onto a window, having a projector and media player power up each evening on a timer or dusk-to-dawn sensor.

Also looking for inexpensive ($100) LED pico projectors--new or used

My windows are narrow. And before I had 2,000 lumens lamp-based projectors, my cheap low lumens discovery wonderwall projectors were sufficient--at least after dark.

Finally, what about an all-in-one unit like the UltraProjector? Seemed a bit expensive but believe it could play a loop upon power-on and was also weatherproof (?) I'd love to be able to project onto the side of my house without having to worry about the elements.

Want to go with LEDs vs any lamp based projectors for safety while unattended.

Mike, None of my projectors start up when a timer turns them on. Someone still needs to be around to hit the power button.. it looks like the ultraprojector can do that, but i havent heard much about it...if you find one that can project immediately after a timer kicks it on let me know..you may need to leave it on the entire time, but I am not sure.
J-Man,
Will it autoplay in loop mode when powered on by a timer? No human interaction needed, just load a file set a timer and walk away?

Hmmm, good point about projector start up. Hadn't considered that. I know that a timer power-down would mean death for lamp-based projectors (needs a button push for cool-down fan cycle to preserve life of lamp).

Really wish there was a less expensive alternative to the Ultra Projector.
J-Man, please post the make and model # of the media player you're selling. You say you're selling them at cost. I may want to find one and put it on my Christmas list for my family, or purchase one some time in 2016. There must be a model # on it somewhere.

Just so you understand, you won't find these on ebay or Amazon. I had these specially made to my specs for totally seamless looping with no momentary black screen between loops or switching videos. There are also no on screen icons to ruin the effect. There is no model #. The case may look the same as others you have seen but trust me, the inner works are not.

J-Man's solution looks cool. I may have to get one.

I'll throw out two other possibilities just for future haunters doing research.

* Raspberry Pi mini computers can do this. I don't know if the new Nano one can and they are waaaay under $50. The Pi 2B can definitely do it for the $60-$70 range (including the HDMI cables, protective case and necessary memory cards). Look into the video looper software for them.

* Last year I used an old portable DVD player and hooked it into my projector. That requires you to author a DVD to play your video on startup (not hard but an extra step).
