Gemmy the dancing 5ft. skeleton

Hello everyone,
Brand new to the site and very excited to be here.
I have a 5 ft. dancing skeleton I bought at a garage sale, It was missing the power pack . I've located the power pack a 9 volt 1.5 amp.
The problem I am having, when I press the button to turn him on, he does a quick laugh, the song starts to play for about a second, then it turns right off. If I press it again, it does the same thing. Not sure if a resistor, or something has failed. If anyone has experienced this or knows the fix, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You,
Frank

Sorry to say problems like that are common with those types of props, they typically don't have a long life span. Maybe someone can help you out.
yes this is true, I own quite a few of the cheaper models and they tend to prematurely fail. I just wish there was a way to diagnose the circuit board a little easier.
I have one I picked up on Craigslist for $35.00 a number of years ago that I use for my skeleton rock band. He works till he gets to a certain note then his jaw freezes open and stops moving till you nudge it. This has happened for probably 3 years in a row now. It's a guarantee when it gets to ACDC, lol! Wish I could figure out how to fix this too.
I'm working on a new board that will allow an easy conversion of any talking Gemmy. It will also let you use any of your own recordings to control the jaw. Right now it's just in the design stage so the final product (if all goes well) won't be available until late this year.
Yes it's frustrating.........
Sorry to hear your issues close, I just wish I new what component was causing it to stop. I'm a solder junkie (lol) I'll remove the defective part and resolder a new one in.
J man, that would be awesome.........keep us posted!!!!
Not happy when my props are not functioning properly.
