Just finished up a quick build for the centerpiece for my laboratory:

The base of this is a old VHS cassette storage box from goodwill, with holes drilled out for the flicker lights and painted with hammered finish metal spray paint. The plasma ball and the fake steampunk gauges were painted with hammered copper spray paint (the gauges started out as Spiderman yoyos from the dollar store). I also added wire whisks as antenna, a drain cover, and a high voltage sticker from Amazon. Pretty quick build but I'm pleased with the result overall.

Here's a video showing the prop in action, along with some of the other stuff I've built for the lab:

Nice job MonsterSquad! It's going to look really cool at night.

Just hope you wife doesn't need her whisks for the next two months. :D

Love it! How did you do the brain thingy next to it?
Thanks! The dome is a Crayola Color Explosion Glow Dome I found at goodwill. The lights and everything are already set up, so all I did really was paint the base with metal paint, and hot glue the wires (earbuds from the dollar store) to the brain. I also cut the bottom off a clear starbucks cup, put that in the dome, then glued the brain on top of it, to make it look like the brain is floating inside the dome.
