Yay! almost done
... Well, it's done enough to post some progress pix. Started out with an ordinary kid's kitchen I found at Goodwill.
Sanded it down, scrubbed it with TSP:
Next, using a sponge, I added what was supposed to be rust colored Monster Mud. But hey, it was my first time using MM (fun!) so I did not get the paint color quite right! It definitely looked more salmon and I was pretty bummed out at this point....
Next I added greyish black Monster Mud using sponge, random places....
Started to put this on pretty thick where I suspected an "explosive accident" may have occured during crazy experiments:
Next step: dry brushing on some metallic silver paint.. .let it dry..... then dry brushed on rust colored paint. Both were Martha Stewart brand.
Next step, dry brush black paint:
And the most fun part? Applying the green slime (really thick greenish black paint):
Then I added some lighting. Drilled holes in kitchen back splash area, added 4 metallic bowls I found at Goodwill (drilled holes in those too). Pushed white XMAS tree lights through the back and attached a red plastic XMAS tree ornament rubber ball thing to hold the four red lights in place.
I am not quite done yet...... Will be adding more finsihing touches for sure- but the hard part is over
Thanks TERRA!
PS The thing on the top right is an IKEA wall mounted medicine cabinet with tempered glass. I put a cool party light inside that spinsa round and changes colors- It looks pretty neat-o
