Former low-budget filmmaker, now just making weird stuff because it's fun

Not a shock that I was a MonsterKid, growing up in the 1970's, reading Famous Monsters of Filmland, watching for old movies in the TV Guide, and staying up late on Saturdays to watch local horror hosts.
I began making short movies on my dads Super-8 camera, each with a horror or monster trend, usually based on my misunderstanding of what a movie was about that I had read of, but never seen.
I continued this trend into adult life, making 11 micro-budget movies on various video formats while working as an editor on industrial and training films.
Now, I just write, read, do (very) occasional edits, but continue making weird little effects in my shop, mostly because it occupies me, and keeps me out of trouble.
I can give some advice, but I'll be looking for some, too. Won't that be fun? Of course, it will.
