I bought a couple of those remote timers for my old fog machines, but they didn't work on all the models. Plus, I have a few that are hardwired, so I coudn't use a remote on them. So, my question is:

Have any of you ever spliced a long extension cord into the control switch cord? I'm thinking of doing this to most of my foggers, then running the control switches to a central place where one person can control all of them as TOTs go by so I don't have to run all over the yard pushing buttons

I have used long (50 ft.) extension cords between my fog machines and their remotes with no problems at all. I had to buy a couple of IEC Male to AC 3-Prong Female adapters to do it.

I've done my share of wire splicing before, but never with an extension cord or the type of connectors associated with foggers...a tutorial with pics would be HUGELY appreciated, because I've got three foggers I've got to figure out for 2009!!
