I've searched for this specifically but come up short- I have reapers in black cloth which I'd like to have glow under a blacklight. I have some RIT whitening dye for the white fabric (another project), but from my understanding it's the chemical in the dye which fluoresces- in which case, shouldn't it do the same thing if it was soaked into black fabric? I know the white will be more effective but would the black work?

Haven't tried it, but the theory is sound. Don't know if it will have a reduced effectiveness on black cloth compared to white, but I'm betting it should work.

However, if it doesn't, there is glow in the dark spray paint that's clear in bright light, so your black reapers would still be black, but glow like crazy in the dark under a black light.

Good question. Never gave it much thought since black is the invisible color in fluorescent props and painting. Post some pictures so we can see what it looks like.
