Wanted to try making a mask from one of the aluminum mask molds I found at a thrift.

Only recently learned about Worbla and it was so easy to use!
Going to put some Gesso on it then paint her up!

I was used a heated flat tip on a wood burning iron to cut the excess away but it left a little rough area. Should I just hit the edges with a heat gun and smooth it with my fingers?

Played around with painting Tink. This is the first effort. Going to make a change to the eyes on the next one. This one is going to a friend as a gift!

Do you think we could sell her as a reproduction/replica? Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated as I am new to this.

Thank you!

I think you could, depending on who you are marketing to and how much you are selling it for.

Thanks. I think we would have to sell for less than it costs to buy a vintage mask. We would not be covering the true labor cost but we are a cottage industry so labor is cheap. Ours would certainly be more durable. We'll make a couple more and test the waters.

It might appeal to collectors who want a decorative piece that is from an original mold. I guess we should provide some kind of certificate of authenticity with a picture of the mold.

Thanks for your input!
