Hi, my name is Cheryl. I live in California (not the good part). I'm a big horror fan -- love all things macabre and I have a Halloween obsession. A long time ago, Halloween became set in my mind as the perfect day - the day I wish I could freeze in time. Even though things always go wrong and my execution always falls far short of my vision, it's still the best day of the year.

Today is Easter, which to me, is the polar opposite of Halloween. Pastel colors everywhere! It saddens my dark heart

So I thought I would cheer myself up by finally joining this forum after lurking here forever. I'm mostly an admirer of people who haunt and have no great accomplishments in this area, but I love seeing what black magic the members here are able to create.

Welcome to the forum!!! Im in California too, I'm in the high desert, what "bad" part are you from?

I'm living in Modesto in the Central Valley, at least for now. I recently moved from the Bay Area, where I was born and raised. My new neighborhood is nice but sadly, doesn't seem to have much going on, Halloween-wise. I last lived in Mountain View, just a couple blocks from a truly epic yard haunt. I used to have so much fun stalking that guy as he was setting up - purposely walking my dog past his house so I could scope out his progress. Fall won't be quite the same without that to look forward to. Hopefully now I can get inspired to create my own atmosphere, as best I can.

I love the desert - it's so surreal and beautiful, especially at night. Thank you for the welcome!

Thank you Defenestrator! Yeah, I have no idea why it took me so long to actually join, because if there's one group of people I would love to be a part of, it's Halloween people! Maybe I felt a little unworthy because I don't do an awesome yard haunt (hopeless with power tools and such) or throw great parties. I just really, really love all that stuff!
