We basically use the same technique except that I found last year that it was best to "water" the styrofoam before burning it... (I use a standard plant sprayer). It gives it a more stone-ish look... IMO

Hi,
I still have the top cover to do. I'm going to try the water and see how it turns out. The water will stop it from melting.

I've done it with water too and I like how it has more of an irregular look to it. I used the garden hose with a misting sprayer that can quickly turn to a direct spray so I dont burn the house down. :D
