Egyptian 2018 home haunt

Here is the link to my album----> https://photos.app.goo.gl/JUnBwCGV57qMycib8

I was out of work due to surgery so I had alot of time to work on my costume ?.

Once I was feeling a bit more mobile ( and the weather let up a little - was like 94 degrees here-) I was able to complete the pyramids, archway and cat embalming table.

The idea was a rave at the Tomb Tomb room :) So I played club style egyptian dance music and mixed in a couple faves like the Bangles and Steve Martin. Alexa found me an interesting song called Asia lol.

Had so many photo ops with tots it was just unreal the response! Overwelmingly positive and we get hordes of tots, like the walking dead but alive!

2 different kids genuflected to me, I was called Cardi B and Katie Perry but they were told I was Isis, the mother of the Egyptian gods. Seemed to appreciate the lesson.

Worked hard on my headpiece, I love it, but got the most compliments on my shoes, lol. Shoes took me about an hour to bling up. Headpiece? Days, lol.

Ive not had an easy road the past 5 years with health and my ltr ending, finding a place to live, etc..Im thankful to my family who allowed me to do it up right this year. I appreciated the comments I shpuld do this professionally or with Disney but we know theres not much money involved in it and it more a labor of love.

Happy that my only competition was a full scale minions theme somewhere in my neighborhood but I was told that I won lol.
How will I top next year?

Oh, Kitty, you look beautiful, absolutely gorgeous! And your headpiece is spectacular! I remember your Egyptian area when you used to set up your garage scenes, I took great inspiration from that when I did my mummy's tomb bathroom. Glad to see you back in the game. The pyramids and columns look fantastic and love the cat embalming table heehee. The mummies and skelly costumes came out great too. How did you make/find that 10ft mummy? She's quite impressive. So much detail, thanks for sharing.

Completely wonderful, kitty - I love the cat embalming table, and the King Tut skull face over the doorway is fantastic! So many great details - the pyramid, and the cobra peacock-feather fan, and the scorpions, and the gorgeous Egyptian paintings - everything is terrific. Your costume is beautiful and it fits the theme perfectly - so elegant, and the headpiece and wing sleeves came out *great.* Really amazing - everything looks just incredible.

Thanks so much for the awesome feedback friends! Its been a fun transition back to decorating on some level as its been way too long since the last time. I did a pirate scene last year but didnt get many pics. The setup this year was a better response though in my neighborhood.

Tanna- 10ft mummy? Which one? The only tall thing was the archway, the rest were gemmy mummys ( 2 male, 1 female). I added a wig and accessories to the lady mummy
Oh my goodness (or should I say "goddess" ?!) You look AMAZING!!!
That is a gorgeous costume!

Everything looks wonderful and so so creative and unique and I imagine you blew all the TOTs away in your area.

Just had a chance to look through your album. Wow. Really amazing job on the Egyptian theme and your costume and those on your props. You rocked that costume girl! I love how you chose to go with the blue hair accents. Creative and really contemporized the look. I love when homeowners dress up in costume and become part of their haunt too.

While the sandals were neat, the headdress was really beautifully crafted and I can imagine required a lot of time planning and assembling. I've been collecting items for when I do an ancient Egyptian theme and was impressed by how you did your setup and what you used. That column/obelisk look was pretty ingenious I thought. When I got to your night time photos, have to say you hit it out of the park on that too. The lighting effects and various sounds made for a creepy experience. Was that all on one soundtrack? I found projecting different lighting colors and effects on different sides of the column was a neat effect and added to the surreal setting.

I especially liked how you lit the huge pharaoh face. Much nicer than just lighting him with a spotlight. How did you end up mounting it? Definitely bookmarking your thread for ideas down the road. Thanks for sharing!

Oh and just rewatching the video again. Also wanted to compliment you on your "cat" themed embalming bed. Clever way to create the look. I really hope your ToTers took their time checking out all the items you created the scene with.

Thanks Gos, :). The cat table was something I really wanted and have never been able to do on previous setups. Its depicted in alot of historical representations for embalming.

The soundtrack was actually sound fx played randomly from some of the props like the pharoah head mounted on the entryway, random striking snakes, moaning ftom the gemmy mummies, the 2 skulls mounted on the obelisk pillar did several bits. The small mummy in my pyramid didnt want to activate via sound/light :( only if touched sp that stunk he was mostly static.
Tje rest of the sounds not heard in the video was music I culled mostly from my video game. And mixed in a few dance songs. I can share my.playlist if amyone wants it from youtube. But I really liked the more mystical tones from my game files that seems obscure so no one else I imagine would use it for what I used it for lol.

So mounting the pharough was easy enough, it was the skull from Michaels and is weighted inside already. A hole for hanging is on the back but I added another to secure fishing line to him then wrapped it around the posts he sat on. Then covered the fishing line with creepy cloth..

Im going to post on my insta progress pics too of the costume pieces and other props and will update that once done.

If anyone has questions on anything lmk, I try to do everything on max budget and easy setup/teardown and weatherproofed for FL rain

Yeah, I guess it was the lady mummy I was asking about. She just looks huge compared to the skellies:

I'd be interested in the playlist. I thought the audio on your video was unique and just added so much to the eerieness of what it must have been like for the kids to walk to your front door. Thanks.

Total aside here, looks like we have the same garage door and house/gargage door color scheme LOL. Plus we have palms as well so I really identified with your set up. :)
Wow! You look great, the set-up looked great, the theme was great. Somewhere Cleopatra is smiling. (What did the mummy say after Halloween was over? "That's a wrap!" :D)

Omg Tanna just sent me your link and let me say...it did not disapoint!!! Everything looks AMAZING!!! Loved it all, especially your entrance...and the lighting love love love
Ermagah! I totally forgot to set up my playlist and other stuff I said like the wips. Thanks for all the love! I hope to get all this posted by next week.

Tanna- the female mummy looks huge because of perspective, ?. Shes in the foreground and the ladies are behind her, as well as her admirer. ?
