I just finished up my latest tombstone. I've been wanting to make this for 2 years after seeing the original in a local cemetery. Below is the original with what my completed version looks like.

Wow!! That looks fantastic! You really captured the scale and elegance of the real thing. i've always wanted to make a large ornate monument like that but we have a small space and it would look out of place. Very nice work!!

Thank you. I made a wood frame for the bottom base and covered it in pink foam board. The rest is all foam board that I cut and carved. The 4 columns are pvc pipes with rubber gaskets. The top is a plastic megaphone with a wooden egg on top.

Oh wow! Really well done replica. I love making tribute tombstones to the ones I find in our local cemeteries. Great job painting and aging it. No one would ever guess there was a megaphone in there! :D

Gorgeous! I've had pictures of monuments like this in my "inspiration" folder but that's one of those "yeah I'll get to that next year", year-after-year projects. You just set the bar VERY high!
