I am trying to complete my creepiest creation yet - something so horrifying it gives even me a twinge. What I need is a pendant cap, oval or rectangular, with an interior width of at least 25mm, preferably wider. Sterling silver strongly preferred but at this point, I am not inclined to be fussy. If it fits, I will use it! Even my awesome local bead shop came up empty. They and I have seen such findings but don't have a clue where to buy them. Etsy, evilBay, and Rings & Things have all failed to deliver.
General shape needed can be seen in this photo of an antique I downloaded from evilBay.
I'm trying to source this for you. It looks kinda like something that IndoExpo may have had, but their website is gone (haven't shopped there in awhile). I've got tons of magazines and I know I've seen a similar cap in one of them at one time or another.
Haunters are the best. Have I mentioned that lately? Because you are. You all are. I mean it. I'm not a huggy person but I would hug all of you if I could.
Death Dealer, those pendant caps are off the charts awesome and if the solution I've concocted doesn't work, I'm going straight to them. The only reason they're not my first choice is that the bezel cup I found has a few advantages for attaching the ... object .... securely to the metal. Downside is, I will have to solder or JB weld or something a ring to the top so I can run a chain through it.
First, however, I'm going to take a step I'd originally decided to skip, a step that will either send it even further over the creepiness top, or irrevocably destroy it. (I do have back-ups but hope not to have to employ them). Once that's done, I will be clicking and ordering like a mad person to get this long-gestating project done and photographed for all the haunt world, especially Saki.Girl, to see. No real human remains this time, but I think even more disturbing than "The Hands of Time."
