FDA Recalls, Market Withdrawals and Safety Alerts
Honestly folks, there's many, many more recalls and alerts regarding undisclosed allergens than there are about any chemical contamination.
Chances are very high that the candy our children (and ourselves) will be enjoying Halloween and the days following will be quite safe for consumption.
Additionally, the infants that have become ill (some of which have indeed died) in China have been sickened due to prolonged exposure to melamine, in large quantities (anyone who's had an infant on formula knows just how much they consume).
Chances of consuming that level of melamine for an adult, or even a child, through candy is pretty low...I'd worry about diabetes first, if you're eating that much candy!!!
