It would be cool to have some sort of clear mask strategically placed somewhere around the pipes. Where hopefully no one will spot it at first, but when the steam is let out it - just might - bring the mask to the foreground making it more visible to the eye. In essence, making it appear that a ghostly face/figure is materializing out from the smoke....
Of course that might be easier said then done.
