What a spectacular display. Creepy, whimsical and lovely. Makes me think of Tim Burton animated movies. It's amazing what depth and sense of presence the Silhouettes add to the scene. It's definitely inspired me to add some creepy tree cutouts to my graveyard next year. I especially love the "window" into the inner sanctum with the flying ghosts. That must be video feed you created yourself somehow. Really cool. That also added a feeling of increased size to the display. How was that created?

Intrigued by the "silhouette" in the title and OMG so glad I checked your haunt out. Absolutely gorgeous. The lighting really helped set it off perfectly, can see where if the lighting wasn't quite right it would affect the look. Nice job. I've got to ask, how many panels of wood did you use and how long do you estimate it took to cut everything out? Simply beautiful, beautiful work. Thanks for posting. Enjoyed the photos and the video.

I have to say that ever since I heard about your haunt on Hauntcast and went to check out your web site I have been very Impressed. And what another great year! I think It's great how you guys seem to take the time to reinvent your haunt ever year. Just the amount of work it must take every year to do that must be daunting.
One of my favorite themes you guys did would have to be The Hollow in 2010, i t had a very harvest/country side feel to it. Keep up the amazing work.

Thank you, Chaos! :) That is precisely what we were going for! <3 The video projection was the 'Seductive Siren' from Atmosfx.com We used a sheer chiffon material, in the color platinum, stapled to a 2x2 frame that was mounted inside the mouth of the garage and then rear projected it onto the material. Super easy for a very cool effect! Thanks again!

Thank you, Ghost of Spookie! We appreciate it! :) We definitely knew early on that the lighting would absolutely be key to pulling off the silhouette theme. We struggled for awhile in finding just the right combination of back lighting and front lighting in order to create the kind of depth we were looking for. It was a lot of trial and error over a period of a week to get it to where we were happy with it. In the end we were super pleased with the result, despite the frustrations early on. ;-)

The whole project took 30 4x8 sheets of 1/4" Luan. We were lucky enough to have it already, as it was the wood we had used for our maze walls in 2014. 3 gallons of flat and semi-gloss black exterior paint, and 30 cans of $1 black spray paint. We started cutting in late July/early August, after having decided on designs etc., and finished cutting twoo weeks prior to Halloween. Thanks, again! :)

STUNNING!!! I so badly want to learn how to work with wood. I LOVE the trees and especially the witchy houses up top. All the crooked curves also reminded me of Burton, and the witchy houses reminded me of my favorite Halloween animated video by a forum member on here (Kingdom of Witches video by Nocturnaloner).

And then there's this little critter hanging who made me laugh with delight! I love everything about your haunt. If you change it up every year, I'd want to buy all the silhouettes! BUY ALL THE THINGS! TAKE MY MONEY!!!!
