I got 4 of the little dog skeletons from Costco plus one I have from Kmart last year. My plan is to corpsify all of them and do something like the dogs from Resident Evil. I did the one with out led lights for eyes first to experiment and get ideas from. I still have a bit of touching up to do.

I think the led eyes will look really cool on a corpsified dog and has good potential. I may also put remote control color lights in them to light the bodies up at night. I will be cutting one in half and have it looking like it is emerging from a lava pit using the good stuff foam fire pits that a lot of people have posted instructions to make on this site.

Looks great! We had the same thought on it needing to be corpsed I plan to add wings to mine as well.

I plastic corpsed a dog last year. The skull was difficult but it ended up looking pretty good.

I am doing one at a time so that I can learn as I go along. I am not happy with them yet. I need to add some color to bring out some of the depth and make them look better. The first one looks blah.

I did not stain the entire body of the 2nd one. I am trying to give make it look like the flesh is rotting off the bone by leaving some bone exposed.

I may also cut off the back end/legs and make this the one that is crawling out of the fire pit.

The body does not light up. I use these lights. Just checked and they went up in price by $3 since March.

It costs less than $20 to do 5 skeletons and about 2-4 hours of time to do them all. It's easy to change the poses of the dogs by heating up limbs with the heatgun until they are malleable. Bend them to the position you want and I had a spray bottle of water nearby to help cool down the bends I made. (One dog is sitting down and I bent the neck of the dog climbing out of the pit).

The part where he talks about dry brushing really does make the final prop look better. (Not shown in the above pics) If you are like me and don't know much about things like drybrushing, he also has a video on how to dry brushthat is worth checking out.

Great job. Lighting up the rib cage really looks great. Can't wait to see the dry brushed version, though they look great already all lit up. So these are corpsed with plastic, is that right? I just got one today, and was going to corpse it with papier mache, but I am loving the light up rib cage. Maybe I'll make a lamp out of mine using the plastic technique instead. I don't get TOTs any more, so if I make something, I either have to find a use for it, or donate it. (Lame, right?) Thanks for sharing your build.

Yes it's the plastic technique. Really easy to do. It looks better in person lit up.

Great use of the dogs. My Costco is selling them for $12. Your last photo is great! Looks like the dogs are rising from the hot ashes of HELL.
