Im trying to get the guy inside the coffin to go up and down. I can get it to go up but now down by itself. Im using a 4 way 5 port valve with a double acting cylinder. do I need a pressure regulator on one of the lines in order for it to work? Need help

You have what you need, post a picture of your valve and connections if you can. It sounds like you just have things connected wrong.

It looks like you have things correct. The exhaust mufflers you have are flow adjustable, that's good. It may be as simple as opening the adjuster for the retract exhaust.

Ive opened both exhaust mufflers and no air comes out. Could theres be something wrong with the valve or cylinder?

It looks like you have things correct. The exhaust mufflers you have are flow adjustable, that's good. It may be as simple as opening the adjuster for the retract exhaust.

The valve you have is a single solenoid, when there is no power to the solenoid there should be air pressure to the port that retracts the cylinder (top of cylinder). Check to make sure that's the case. If the cylinder is already retracted, there won't be any air coming out of that exhaust port.

The "A" port should have air pressure when the valve is not powered. Check to make sure there is pressure from the "A" port when there's pressure going into the valve. What psi are you applying to the valve? Most valves need at least 20 psi to operate.
