For those of you who use real bones in displays/props, how do you clean your bones? I usually throw mine in an ant bed, but I don't have an active bed in my yard right now. I was given some AWESOME bones on Sunday and I need a new process.

I did this in college for a class. I suggest gently boiling the bones to remove all the flesh. Then bleach them with 3% hydrogen peroxide which is the typical strength found over the counter. You can do a method with just lukewarm water but that stinks horribly. When you are done you can use a clear lacquer or Polyurethane coat to seal and preserve it.

cmerli, that's what I thought I'd heard before, (boiling and peroxide) but I wasn't sure. Seems too easy. Thanks a MILLION!!!! My ox tails thank you, too! *skips happily to the kitchen*
