I had 9 pieces of cemetery fence made out of 1/2" PVC and 1x2s and I decided to add to stone work around the fences. I started by cutting off the bottoms of the PVC fences so they would sit flat in a frame I contruced out of 2x4s. I covered 1 side of the 2x4 frames with 1x lumber that I got for a steal. This created a pocket on the other side with I inserted 2" thick foam. Also added finials to the PVC Fence. Turned out like this:

Next was the stone work. I spend 2+ hours carving the 1st one with a dremel and with 8 more to go I decided there had to be a better way. I decided to paint my grout line on with Acetone. The lines are not as nice as the dremel lines but with 108' of fence I can live with it. Here is my hand painting grout lines and the finished panel after I gave it a base coat of gray paint .

Here is a view of the backside of the panels sitting nice while they dry. I am not sure whether to paint or stain the backs of the panels.

Depending on how they turn out, the backside of the panels might actually become the front with the stonework facing into our cemetery.

Any thoughts from anyone on painting the wood side of the fence? I cant decide whether to paint this side or stain it? I have some medium wood color stain here that I am suure will look fine if highlight the seams with a darker color but then I think.....maybe paint it a dark grey color?

That being the overall consensus I have decided to go ahead and paint the wood side a gark shade of gray. When all is done I will post a picture. When the panels are finsihed they will be placed around the cemetery with a 2-3' space btween them I plan on hanging a latern between the 2 panels on a thinck piece of chain. I think it will look pretty good!

Homestead, I really gotta hand it to you; it's getting harder and harder to come up with a new concept for our haunts, but you've done it, Buddy. These things look great, and I'm going to implement a variation of the fence for our place this year. Thanks!

I painted the fence panels gray and then misted them w/black. I am going to leave the wood side as is I think. The stone with will need a few more colors sponged on before I will be done with that side. I will post pics of the other side when finished. The panels are much darked then they appear in the picture. The black is barley visable in this picture.
