I'm sure this has been addressed may times however still seeing posts about drying up source of low speed high torque motors figured I'll put in my 2 cents. Every one knows the many uses and availability of windshield wiper motors main problem they move to fast for many props. Being a General Motors tech I have access to a plethora of motors from wiper motors to HAVC actuators, I just could not get the speed to the correct RPM. Now making my first prop with a 12v converter, 12v wiper motor, and a 12V-40V 10A Pulse Width Modulation Motor Speed Control available on monster guts but purchased off ebay for $8. Note I would recommend buying a PWM that already has an enclosure rather than open circuit board. The modulator allows you to control the speed of just about any 12V DC motor. In fact I have yet to find a 12V motor it wont work on. Just connect a 12V power source either a battery or a 110 to 12V converter, then run your + and - to your prop. After your connections are made and power is on just dial in your desired speed. Hope this helps some people out in time for the big day. Sorry if this is not the best post. . By the way if you use the 12v system then adding LEDs is easy.
