Candy I've never seen before

Here's a different kind of candy that I've never seen before. I think it's a cool idea because they are participating in Halloween, keeping true to their faith without beating the kids over the head with said faith. The maker is Scripture candy company and their motto is "reaching the world one piece at a time."

Harvest seeds.

SMH! Some people have too much time on their hands to think stuff like this up!

i like the idea of the verses but why couldn't they just call it 'candy corn'?

MAJOR FAIL. Sorry but this is just another intrusion into a child's life. I wonder what would happen if they tried to hand out candy with passages from the Koran or from Hindu writings. Sometimes I just don't get these religious types..leave my Halloween alone !

I think it's pretty silly but it doesn't hurt anybody. Just another company finding a niche in a very crowded market. It's probably marketed towards churches that push their fall and harvest festivals as Halloween alternatives, but I doubt it's very effective. Think about it; those who attend these festivals are already of that mindset, so what are they doing other than reinforcing what they already believe? And if it is handed out as trick or treat candy in an attempt to evangelize, how many 6-8 year olds are going to be converted because of it? Silly...

That looks like a Big Lots price tag. They sell a lot of strange stuff.

I didn't know Jesus had his own company! Pretty cool, since he gets his own birthday off every year. Wonder if I can buy stock?

Yeah, I saw ones for Easter, too. They were spring colored candy corn...Jesus Promise Seeds. I think it was at Dollar General this year...I ran in the day before Easter to get last minute candy and this was all there was left...lots of it...

I got mine at Shopco. WitchyKitty, I'll have to keep an eye out from those on Easter.
I'd rather this than a religious pamphlet in my kids' trick or treat bag. I don't enjoy people pushing their religion, but at least this is making an effort to keep with the spirit of trick or treating. If they are going to push their religion, at least they can give candy with it! :p

I think it is better to hand this out than close up your home and not participate in halloween. Too many Christians withdraw from halloween and call it a day of evil. I believe that it is not a day of evil, but the devil can't stand to be mocked and thus hates halloween. (Just my personal opinion, not trying to convert or force anybody to read Christian words and be all offended and such :))

I'd much rather Christians not fear having a day of fun with their neighbors and community. Being the house that calls everybody else bad and evil really isn't very nice. Be a good neighbor and at least participate on your own terms.

i personally don't care whether anyone participates or not, as long as they don't try to stop me.

Neither religion nor Halloween should be compulsory. :p

I think halloween should be compulsory. :p Heavy fines for non-participation, shunning by the community for giving out raisins, pennies, or toothbrushes. Death penalty for turning off your lights and hiding in the basement and watching tv.

I don't see why anyone has to bash this. It doesn't hurt you, does it? Hardly anyone even reads the wrappers before opening and eating the candy, let alone take time to read the scriptures on the back if they don't want to. What if this was rainbow wrapper with "=" sign on it? Would you still say the same thing?
If you hate those that hate or do not understand what you like, are you not the same?
Be a haunter :) not a hater.

I love "Be a haunter, not a hater." Wonderful!
And if my kids received rainbow candy with an equal sign on it, I'd be thankful that that person or family was kind enough to hand out candy on halloween!
