Hey guys/gals,
Since becoming paralyzed a few years ago, my Halloween costumes have become a bit more creative, because I now have a wheelchair and a service dog to decorate
.
Last year, I transformed my wheelchair into the Royal Carriage and dressed my service dog as the Queen's Guard (guys that stand in front of Buckingham Palace with the fuzzy hats). I was the Queen of England. I waited for all my university classes to start, and then I interrupted the class with royal fanfair trumpet music blasting from a bluetooth speaker. My friend would push me into the room because my chair was impossible to push with the carriage setup. I waved like the queen, and made my way to the desk. It was even funnier because I'm a dude.
This year, I want to take it a step further. Attached is a mock-up of my chair. It's going to be the lamp, I'm going to be the Genie within the lamp, and my service dog is going to be Aladin.
In the Disney movie, every time the genie is summoned from the lamp there is a ridiculous amount of smoke. I would love to somehow mount a smoke machine beneath my chair that emits a huge plume of smoke. It would be classic if all the parts of my wheelchair are hidden by the smoke so I look like a floating lamp moving around campus. Coupled with the song "Prince Ali" blasting from a bluetooth speaker, this costume would be epic.
Please, someone who knows a bit about these smoke machines, tell me this is possible!
