I wish I could help you. Just wanted to let you know that the same exact thing ended up happening to my machine. I bought it probably 4 or so years ago on clearance, tried it out that night, cleaned it up and put it away until this summer.
I'm pretty handy but didn't really feel like dealing with it. I just tossed it.
Should I feel bad? Did you get yours to work?
