I have 2 white ceramic cats that are just a bit larger than real cats sitting in my flower beds. They were painted by my husband's late parents. I have been tempted to paint them black, but not sure if hubby would be okay with that. They really do need a new paint job and be re-glazed or glazed, as one was never glazed to begin with.
We have one real live black cat, we did have 2 up until last year. We lost one after, what we believe, a deer kicked or stomped it. It was just a couple of days after I had put out my Halloween decor. Our kitty was going out and hanging around with my witches. We get a few deer in our yard nearly year round. We think that some deer came into the yard and were a bit spooked by the decor and the cat may have spooked them further. It was extremely heartbreaking. She had the most gorgeous yellow eyes, long black fur and 6 toes on all four feet.
We try and keep our cats in on Halloween night as I worry about what someone could do to them, especially to our black ones. Lots of people do not like cats and they really do not like black ones. Black cats and black dogs sit the longest in shelters waiting to be adopted. I personally love black cats, course I love all cats in general. If I could I would go and adopt every cat, especially the black ones from the shelters.
