View attachment 583699 Found this adorable hollow concrete cat a while back.
Today I decided to paint him black & perch him on a fence post.
There are strong wooden dowels inside so he isn’t easily stolen
or knocked off.

Why is it so hard to find good black cats?

I have several that I got from a HF member that look real. I also have one of those battery operated ones that I think were called Puurrfect or something. It is solid white and looks so real. I wish I could color it someway black without ruining the fur.

Because people don't realize that they discriminate against the color of the cat. Cats in general have always been given a bad reputation.... and a black cat throughout history have been persecuted

It’s moments like these that make me glad I have a real black cat. When she sits in the window she just brings all my Halloween decorations together ?

My kids had that cat! We had a black one that sits up and a white one laying down. They moved their head or ears or both. I cant remember but they looked SO real. We tricked many people with those things.

I have 2 white ceramic cats that are just a bit larger than real cats sitting in my flower beds. They were painted by my husband's late parents. I have been tempted to paint them black, but not sure if hubby would be okay with that. They really do need a new paint job and be re-glazed or glazed, as one was never glazed to begin with.

We have one real live black cat, we did have 2 up until last year. We lost one after, what we believe, a deer kicked or stomped it. It was just a couple of days after I had put out my Halloween decor. Our kitty was going out and hanging around with my witches. We get a few deer in our yard nearly year round. We think that some deer came into the yard and were a bit spooked by the decor and the cat may have spooked them further. It was extremely heartbreaking. She had the most gorgeous yellow eyes, long black fur and 6 toes on all four feet.

We try and keep our cats in on Halloween night as I worry about what someone could do to them, especially to our black ones. Lots of people do not like cats and they really do not like black ones. Black cats and black dogs sit the longest in shelters waiting to be adopted. I personally love black cats, course I love all cats in general. If I could I would go and adopt every cat, especially the black ones from the shelters.

I'm so so sorry you lost your kitty. We keep ours inside because of speeders.

I'm finally getting around to posting pics I took of a cute black cat at AC Moore. It was $29.99 and 40% off at the time I took the photo. I didn't actually buy it yet. But it was cute. The eyes light up if you push the button. It seems outside appropriate.
I actually own a version of this one and it’s great. Party City has a great one too this year. Can’t have too many black cats.

Thank-you. We really miss her.
We worry about traffic with our kitties too as we live on a main thoroughfare. We have unfortunately lost 2 kitties over the past 18 years to traffic. However it is impossible to keep our kitties inside all of the time due to having doggies as well. We had to put in a doggy door as it was hard trying to let several dogs in and out all day long. For the most part our kitties usually stay away from the street and usually go hang out on a nice wooded hillside behind our house. Occasionally they will go and hang out in my front flower beds. Deer roam all over the place in our town, even right on Main street. They can become dangerous if spooked.
