I've gotten really interested in those balsa wood 3d puzzles lately. My spidr worked out pretty good so I decided to try a black cat and a vulture. FOr the cat I drew a silhouette of a cat and spent some time figuring out how to make a puzzle from it. Here are some pics. There are a few so I'll spread them out a little.

First I made a maquette from a cereal box to work out how to piece it together

Then I drew out the pieces larger on some cardboard, and made some changes.

I put it all together and it doesn't look bad.

I think I'm going to fill it in with great stuff, seal and paint it. It will fit in pretty good in the yard with the spiders and vultures. I'm getting so backed up with projects i think I'll finish making the stuff I have before I start anything else. And when I make more of these next year I'll use 1/4" plywood instead of cardboard.
