i found the first 6 seasons of Tales from the Crypt on dvd at Big Lots tonight for only $3.00 per season! I thought it was a mistake, only 3 bucks! Now i want to go back tomorrow and buy up the rest of them and save them for nice Halloween prizes. also picked up several seasons of the Flintstones for 3 bucks each!!

The Chiller Network (I get on DirecTV) has been running Tales from the Crypt. They have a big marathon going on next Friday, July 31 from 6am - 2pm (PDST).

I can see doing this for a small party of kids but do you mean you hand them out to all ToT on halloween night? if so, please give directions where you live...

BTW since we are talking about horror videos, might as well mention that when I was at ROSS they had titles like The Grudge (w Sarah Michelle Geller), etc. in their DVD bin. I think a lot of the horror flicks were priced around $3.99. Other mainstream vids were more like $8. Guess we get a break on the horror stuff. I've also noticed Amityville Horror and other classics in TJMaxx recently.

We do a Raffle, of sorts, where the kids draw from a cauldron to determine their Treats. We used to have a huge variety of stuff, but these days we restrict it to Candy Bars, Bag o' Chips, DVD. Some kids agonize over which DVD to select, that slows the flow down.
But you're right, the kids LOVE winning a DVD on Halloween Night...

I have the collection- be careful- some of them have nude parts and pretty strong cursing. Would hate for a 5 year old to hear the F word mulitple times and some ta-ta's....

I went to three BIG LOTS today and didn't see any Tales from the Crypt. Saw lots of horror type DVDs however, almost all at $3, a few at $6. Too many titles to remember but here are a few: Amityville Horror, The Grudge 2, The Exorcist 3, Creepshow, The Hand (with Michael Caine), Freddy vs. Jason, Gothika, The Revenge of Frankenstein, Casper (Bill Pullman, Christina Ricci), there was a double pack of ScoobyDoo movies--Legend of the Vampire & I believe The Witches Ghost--some older movies like the Revenge of Frankenstein and some newer movies with teens (sorry can't remember the names of any more). Overall if you're looking to pick up some DVDs horror or not, they had some really good titles and each store had quite a lot to choose from.

I went to one BL Thursday and to 5 today, only 2 of the 6 had them. The first one had them in their storage waiting to be put out but I didnt get to see how many they had, I got all the seasons except for season 1. I was spacing out because just before I was at work and they were painting and the turpentine they used to strip the door paint was making me light headed. Ill see if they have the box out Tuesday next week to see if they have more. By my house the one had just put them all out, I got there an hour after they opened and they had all of them. So I got my season 1 and a few sets for my mom and aunt., I cleaned out their inventory .

I went to a big lots today with no luck for tales from the crypt. But, i did get amittyville horror for $3. I'll keep checking back, because i'd love to have them.
