After working on it for a few days straight, I finally finished up (well mostly finished) my new celtic cross prop. I still need to add some moss and some ivy but that will come later. I am including a couple progress pics along the way. That's my husband with one of my dachshunds to give you an idea of the scale and size of the cross. It's close to 7 feet tall! It was a fun project to do.
I wasn't planning on putting a fogger in the base. The base is actually solid foam and not hollow in the center. I do plan on putting some moss and perhaps some ivy and a crow sitting on one of the arms on the cross.
Completed, mine stands about 7 1/2' tall. I made a wooden base about the size of the tote in the picture and made a slot for the cross to slide down in. The base is held to the ground with a few short pieces of rebar. We get very strong winds and it held up fine.
