Best use for a lawn reindeer motor

Okay so it wasn't really a reindeer but it is the same kind of motor that was in a Halloween dec I got cheap from Wal-mart. I do not like the dec so I am gutting it. So I was wonder what to do with the motor. But I am not sure how much torque it will handle if I use an extension arm to turn something. My idea was either a vulture pecking or ripping at some thing, using the motor to have the head moving back and forth with some meat hanging from its beak. Or I am leaning toward having two rats playing tug of war with something like a bone or the likes. So any other ideas or opinions on these two. I do not want to go through the trouble of building the prop and it not working. Thanks. By the way you people inspire me during this time of year. Thanks.

I like the vulture idea. If you did two rats and tug-of-war, it seems to me you'd need another motor for the other rat. As far as what would work, I am totally clueless. Just wanted to say I like the vulture idea. :D

If they are playing tug of war that means they would each be holding the same rope. Just make the rope stiff and both of them will rock in unison. That way only one has to have a motor.
or one could have an elastic neck or spring neck to stretch while the moter was pulling away.

I think two rats playing tug of war is very cool! While one rat is stationarey, the other rat could be hooked to the linkage arm of the motor. That would be cool.
Well with the rat set up I was thinking I would mount them both on an arm that is connected to a small 4 bar system so they move together back and forth . It would look like one is pulling one way and the other is pulling the other way. Maybe a bloody hand or bone connected to both mouths. It will basically look like one is winning and then the other. I don't know if that helps the image out or not. Going shopping today. If I find cool rats I will go that way. If I find a cool vulture I will go that way.
Well I'm new here but not new to haunting. I got mad inspired by the heading of the main post, ran into the garage screaming yes, yes, yes, lowered down my 6ft tall snowman that hasn't been working for some time now and ripped the motor out of the moving arm, and voila, I have a rocker motor for my new demon baby cradle, yea yea yea baaaaby!!!!! When I get it running I'll post pics of it and my skull exploding out of water in a cast iron cauldron.

Again Thaaaaank You!!!

P.S. Can't see the forest for all the tree's some times.
Well, got the cradle a rockin and boy is it cool. Took a light hood from an old aquarium, chopped it down to size, put in a black light to creepify it and, well it looks great.
As to the torque question. It seems to have a pretty good amount. The motor from my snowman reverses when the torque is to high, but that is fine for a rocking cradle. The cradle is .05 pine so is not light by a long shot.
Gr8johnson, I like both ideas. The rats would probably be lighter weight and easier to move in case the motor isn't that strong. I do think either idea would catch people's attention.

Thundr would love to see pics or video of it especially one taken in dim light. Sounds cool. You never know what you will get inspired to do when reading someone's thread. Happens to me all the time.
Both ideas are great but i think i like the rats more.
Well that was a fail
Here it is in all the glory

Hey Thundr. I know you said you were new to the board so glad to see you got the video linked. I really like it. That cradle Rocks!! haha. Really, it's very spooky looking and the lighting is very eerie. Also thanks for showing in the video how you hooked up the motor to rock the cradle. A reindeer wolf will be my first venture into mechanical prop land and with that I don't even have to move the motor so the cradle is worlds beyond me right now. I think I could to do something like it though.

Since you are new I thought I'd mention that if you post something and it doesn't work or you need to change your post you can alway click on the Edit button and make any changes you need to to the post (only the originator of the thread has this feature available to them, and I think there's a time period limit also--maybe a week?)
