#$%@ Pinterest made me want to try to make a foil spider. Lightweight, weatherproof, huge!

NOTHING STICKS TO $%&# FOIL! Found that out not as quickly as expected.

Here's how I made mine:
Legs: I stuck heavy wire in 5’&6’ pool noodles, crinkled & uncrinkled heavy duty foil and glued on with sprayfoam leaving 6” overhang at ‘shoulders’ to cover joint.

Body: 2”x3” board sandwiched between 2 layers of ½“ squared chicken wire. 8 L brackets screwed onto wood. Carabiner for easy hanging. Foil pans=lightweight volume. Covered with crinkly foil glued with sprayfoam like the legs.

Paint: matte black all over, greenish with white primer dry brushed on top.

**Paint extra foil in case needed for assembly
**I used a gabillion (60-80?) zip ties in creation and assembly
**Hang, secure body motion free before attaching legs
**Secure legs motion free with heavy fishing line

The spider looks great, but the your web is amazing. How long did it take to lay that out and cut all the holes?
The first of 4 30' strands took about 2-3 hours, but after discovering the technique, it was down to 30-45 min per strand. Hook tightly over doorknobs and heavy chairs, moving to maintain tautness.

Did you find a Canadian source for the beef netting, or did you order online from the US?

I'll be in London the first weekend of April.....I think you should leave it up so I can see everything in person. :)

May I ask where you ordered it from, and the size?

Also is there a guide for beef netting web? you mention chairs and such.
No instructions. Anything you can use to stretch as tautly as possible. We took a brief video: https://youtu.be/41EFSfndJxk
I ordered it from Trenton Mills, after a gabillion hours searching, I think they are the only vendors. Shipping to Canada was more than the product. I got 10lb

I got the polyester hoping it would fluoresce (it doesn't) because it looks whiter in the photos. I have had mine up for 3 weeks now and they are starting to look raggedy, but depending how OCD you are, I think it adds to the effect. We get a fair amount of wind and rain which does take its toll, but I think it is more than the average location. We used knitting needles at a 30 angle to anchor it to the lawn, and 3 got pulled out. But yes, I think they are reusable.
