#$%@ Pinterest made me want to try to make a foil spider. Lightweight, weatherproof, huge!
NOTHING STICKS TO $%&# FOIL! Found that out not as quickly as expected.
Here's how I made mine:
Legs: I stuck heavy wire in 5’&6’ pool noodles, crinkled & uncrinkled heavy duty foil and glued on with sprayfoam leaving 6” overhang at ‘shoulders’ to cover joint.
Body: 2”x3” board sandwiched between 2 layers of ½“ squared chicken wire. 8 L brackets screwed onto wood. Carabiner for easy hanging. Foil pans=lightweight volume. Covered with crinkly foil glued with sprayfoam like the legs.
Paint: matte black all over, greenish with white primer dry brushed on top.
**Paint extra foil in case needed for assembly
**I used a gabillion (60-80?) zip ties in creation and assembly
**Hang, secure body motion free before attaching legs
**Secure legs motion free with heavy fishing line
