I was going thru some pictures from last year and I thought I'd share this interesting build. System is based off of Raven Manors axworthy ghosts with some mods. I used two frightprops wiper motors and controllers. I also used their ghosts but with some modifications to lighten them up. I hacked hubs and sprockets to connect the motors to the bike wheels. Both systems run independently of each other. One in the front of the house and one in the back. This prop was by far was the biggest hit out of everything.

:)This looks so great! I have always loved the Axworthy ghost effect. I wonder if I could do it on my front porch? It'd be great to have three ghosts actually moving among all the static ghosts. What is the max weight one of the ghosts can be?:D

Thanks. I guess my ghosts weigh about 1/2-3/4 pound each. I think they should be lighter but I wanted them as big as possible. I definitely think you could run them around a porch. The key to the system is having light ghosts and a lot of tension in the line. I used 130 lb test braided fishing line and 120 lb swivels. I tend to build things over-kill. I would imagine you could get away with 65 lb test. Just make sure its braided. It has zero stretch unlike monofilament line. I also recommend using the albright and palomar knot. I had to add guy wires to my 1" rigid conduit to add my tension to the line. I used the 32" ghosts and would use the 18" ones when it got too windy.

Let me know if I can help.

Great job! I made one two years ago and had to make my ghosts REALLY light. I also wasn't happy with the slow speed of my ghosts. I attached the drive wheel directly to the wiper motor shaft. Can you post a close up pic of the motor/drive wheel assembly? Also, how did you tension the line and how much tension was on it? It looked like you had some long runs.
