I'm using a Micca Speck media player and a 1080p TV to run a 10 minute loop of Unliving Portraits (from AtmosFX). Everything runs fine for a while, but then the audio gets out of synch. I've tried adjusting the audio delay on the TV, but even though I've tried the whole range of 0 - 250 ms, I can't get the sound to sync.

My puzzlement is that it's synched at the beginning of the video but gets off.

I used iMovie to "stitch" the video files together and exported to 1080p. I've used iMovie before without an issue like this (not for video props, just video in general). I've also checked the video and audio was in sync when playing in iMovie.

Any ideas?

What type of cable are you using for the hook up from the Micca Speck to the TV? Is it the G2 version?

Hmm, now that you mention it, I think it's one from the Dollar store. Which, I know, isn't the greatest quality, but I needed one for a class I was teaching and it was quick (and works from for basic presentations). I'll try swapping it out for the better one.

Try a good quality high-speed HDMI and see if that helps. If it doesn't, you may need to try a separate audio aux cable for the audio feed. I've had lag issues before and had to go the separate cable route to fix it when the HS HDMI didn't.

The cable won't have that big an impact on the sync. If the sound is THAT off that's it is visibly noticeable, there's something else going on. Perhaps some sort of buffering issue with the player, maybe?

Yeah, I was going to suggest the player too. I'm not an expert, but I tried to run a Hallowindow video a few years back on an old mini-portable DVD player (one my kids used on long car trips before smartphones and tablets) which was hooked into a projector. It lost snyc, was jittery after 3-4 minutes, and would even restart back to the menu screen occasionally.

Overall a bad experience. Not sure if that's happening here or not but hope my story might be helpful.

Other troubleshooting you could try would be to play the video on different devices in the house and see if you're getting the same problem - if so, then maybe it's your settings in IMovie or something.

I ran into a similar issue a while back when I was making a video for my wife's birthday. Even though the stitched video played back great in iMovie, even after render, when played on a different device the audio would become out of synch. My fix was simply to render the video again, but I chose 720p and it fixed the issue. I have no idea if what fixed my issue will fix yours, any of the reasons behind it, etc. Just thought I would share what worked for me.
