I bought 2 of those little skellys at Dollar Tree. What are they? About 18" tall? Something like that. Anyway, I made them into flying demons... take a look at the finished product:

They're just missing something and I can't figure it out. What do you think?

I love them!

The only thing that I would suggest is to age them. Like when you take wood stain and rub it over a Bucky skeleton. If it was more brown and antiquitish looking, basically.
You could try to corpse them. Or just corpse the body and make the head that red glue gun technique that makes it looks like the skin has been torn off and theres nothing but the veins left. creepy and terrifying thats what they need. Other than that very cool.
Looking good!
I would paint them a couple different shades of red and make them into little demons, or as said already maybe corpse them up like rotting demons.
They look good.... but I agree with Terra: "stain" them a bit, so they will not look as new...

My 2 cents! ;)
A shoulder to sit on?

That would have been cute! lol He's stiff as a board though.

I agree. Reminds me of something I saw on the Jim Henson's Storyteller series episode about the soldier who made a deal with this little red winged demons. Paint them red and make a whole bunch of them and pose them around your house / haunt in interesting positions. As I recall in the episode, these little buggers like to play cards. That could be one little scene. Perched around a graveyard would also be fun. Great idea to add wings to inexpensive prop.
