Do you have a cool Halloween craft or product? I am looking for cool stuff to write about for my website! I would love to help promote your stuff on my site!!!

Send me a PM or post your stuff here!

Here is an example of something that I would love to promote and write about!

My girlfriend makes custom Halloween (and some of those other season) die cuts. I'm going to write a post on her soon, I'm just waiting for her to add more stuff!

Hi Leo. One of my hobbies is making scale figures of movie monsters/actors in vinyl or resin.
These are painted to a museum quality standard and mounted on professionally made wooden bases with inscribed plaques giving the actors name, film and release date. I mostly work in 1:6 or 1:8 scale, and in the past they have proved rather popular as display pieces.
I sell a few of these every year and the profit I make on them helps to fund my haunt.

Is this the type of thing you would be interested in featuring on your site? if so, let me know and I'll post some pics (Please note however that my artwork is infinitely better than my photography, so I'll apologise for the picture quality now, before I even post them...)
Hey Baron!

Yes, I would really love to see this art. It would be helpful if you had a store front or some place where people could see more examples of your work.

How many do you have pictures of?

Thanks,

Leo
I don't have a shop front or anything like that as I normally only sell a few figures a year to friends or anybody that may ask for a specific piece. It's primarily a hobby, although I have done one or two pieces on commission.
As a rough guide, I normally sell a vinyl piece for around £50-£60. A large scale resin figure could be upwards of £150. (I'll need to do the math to convert it to $$)

I've attached a pic of Bela Lugosi as Dracula in 1:6 scale (vinyl). Again, apologies for the poor photo quality, but you should get the overall idea of the kind of thing that I do.

I have a few photo's of 4 or 5 other figures on my work computer which I'll retrieve and post up here for you to have a look at.
Wow! That is very good! I would love to see more!

Also, if you have a regular point and shoot camera, you can get some better pictures if you enable the macro feature. The macro feature is the image of the little flower. This will allow you to get closer to your subject without it getting blurry.

I would love to feature your work on my site, but I would need some decent images!

Let me know if you can reshoot! Its totally up to you! It may bring you some business. If you want!

Leo
Thanks Leo. I've put a few more pics in an album on my profile thingy, although I haven't yet worked out how to put a link to it in my siggy.

Thanks for the tip about the Macro..I wondered what that little flower thingy was for. i'm a bit of a dumbass when it comes to cameras and photography..never progressed past the box brownie stage...

I'll try to re-shoot some of them using your advice and see if I can get some better quality photo's to post.

I'm not looking to sell loads of these, as they are very time consuming to make, and I never seem to have enough time to do all the other stuff I want to do or need to do, but if any forum members would be interested in having a piece built, I would be happy to discuss their requirements.
Hi Leo, this is a very food idea! I don't have anything YET, but I working as hard as I can on a project of mine: bone sculptures. I'll give you more informations when I'll have something concrete if you are still interested...

Baron Samedi you are very talented! I'm dying to see more of your work! (Leo don't forget to tell us when the article is online ;) )
Holy Crap! Those figurines are amazing!

I think that if you shot some pictures using the Macro (flower) option, it would take care of the blurriness!

If we can get just get like 4 or 5 awesome pictures, it would make an article so much more interesting for the readers.

I would love to get started. I'm going to do this article in an interview format. I'll send you a private message and we can go back and forth a few times and come up with some awesome material!

Merci pour vos commentaires très gentils mon ami...:)

I would be very interested to see your bone sculptures...are they carved from real bone?
Hi Leo.
Got your pm. I may have to answer the questions bit by bit as I am very occasionally expected to do some work around here! damn inconvenience, but hey ho..it pays the bills.
I'll also try to reshoot some of the photo's over the weekend.

I appreciate that you are very keen to get started on your project and I'll try to get the material to you just as quickly as I can.
Baron Samedi, unfortunately they are not made of real bones (I wish so!) but only with castings
My purpose is to recreate that mood:

Of course it could be used as a prop but I see more this as a macabre art project.

Ah! I've seen this place on TV. I believe it's the catacombes of an old monastary somewhere in Italy..(or maybe France)?

So would you be making a smaller scale sculpture or using full size skulls?
Either way it sounds like a very interesting project and would look awesome with some careful lighting effects.
I'd love to see some pictures when it all comes together.
Almost right! I shot this one in the Catacombs of Paris but there are also great ones in Roma and Sicily (perhaps others but I'm not aware of). I want a full size sculpture but I don't want it too heavy thus it could be hanged on a wall, and yes with the right light I guess it will just be awesome!
No worries, I will post pictures on the forum.
im a digital artist/designer... some of my work can be found on twistedhero on deviantART
:) not sure thats what you were looking for though.
Wow

Holy [email protected] your work is awesome! I would totally feature it on my site, but I'm not seeing a lot of Halloween related stuff! :(

I've been working with photoshop for quite some time and I don't think I'll ever get to your level.

Do you have a stash of Halloween stuff somewhere? Some of your stuff is dark and twisted, but I'm looking for ghosts and goblins, pumpkins and scarecrows...you get the gist of it.

Thanks Junit, and everybody else for your positive comments.
I am at the moment working on some more "modern" stuff, and have just finished a Pinhead Cenobite ("Hellraiser") figure for a private customer. (Pics are in an album on my profile page if anyone's interested). In the planning are another couple of cenobites for the same customer, and a Jason Vorhees figure.

Scry, Your work is awesome. I particularly like the "darker" stuff. Personally, I've never been able to work in 2D. Can't paint or draw to save my life, so I have great admiration (and if the truth is told, more than a touch of jealousy) for anyone that can produce artwork of that quality in any medium.
Hi Leo!

I make polymer clay creepy art dolls called 'Twisted Poppets'. You can find them here: Filialuna Designs - The Art of Pandora Rose or even more images at Flickr: filialuna's photosets on Flickr

Very cool thread! Thanks for showing interest!
