Anyone's pets freaked out by the halloween decorations?

The dogs have been just ignoring the skeletons, probably because they don't move. Our corgi Ernie is totally freaked out by 'Gigantor' .. The big inflatable spider that's on the cottage roof. He can been seen up on the roof from the back yard. Ernie goes crazy, hackles raised and let's out a war cry soon as the spiders head moves. He's waiting for it to jump off the roof and gobble him, I or the the girls up. He's not having any of that ..thank you very much. It's worse at night when the eyes glow! Anyone else's animals not liking their props too much?

Yeah, my black German Sheppard goes nuts every time he hears a hidden box in the bushes that growls. Also two of my grand kids are petrified by a 3 foot spider that I got from Walgreens. I call him Larry The Leaper.

I bought a small caged motion sensor raven at Target that I'm going to hang under my mailbox. It's sitting next to my la-z-boy now, and my dog gives it a WIDE berth. I left it on motion sensing for a little while, and when it cawed as he walked by, he about came out of his skin barking and looking fierce. I'm starting my yard setup this week, so we'll see what he thinks on walks.

My golden retriever takes Halloween in stride for the most part. I do have to watch him around masks and hats. Not that he's scared of the them, but he'll grab them and play 'keep away' in the yard!

The only time he reacts to props is if I have a life sized prop sitting on the front porch. If he can see it from the window, he'll bark at it. As long as it's off to the side, he's fine. It's funny because he never barks at REAL people going by or dogs or anything else. Just life sized props.

As for me, I could put on the scariest weirdest mask on the planet and he just grins at me. :) It's all in the nose for dogs!

The cats, of course, couldn't care less. Scat likes cuddling up on the life sized props as I'm building them. And he pulled a couple of the fake birds out of the box on the dining table and played hockey with them. :)

Our dogs would totally lose it if something growled at them from the bushes. Our two Aussies just ignore the spider, but they are older and I guess use to it.

Ernie, was pretty much already not thrilled with the whole, fall back to school thing. All of sudden he was woke up in the dark, the morning were cool and his favorite play toys ( my daughters ) were gone all day. He moped for a while.

Ernie moping on one of the girls shelves.

So finally he's getting used to the new routine and all of a sudden an 8 foot arachnoid with glowing eyes takes over the cottage, threatening him from the roof. He's brave, but he says he's 25 lbs of brave .. Soaking wet. He already hated going out in the dark cold morning to start with .. So he's PO'd now!

He wants to go back to the good ole days of sleeping in with a warm person and getting played with all day by three teen girls who dote on him. :p

Palladio ... Scat's beautiful and looks very comfortable snuggled up with your prop! :)
Yup! Until he investigates, our Pom Windsor barks his durn fool head off at my life size figures. And the springing sound they make when you erect them to full height drives him wild as well. We usually keep him in the back until they are up...

We don't have our dog with us anymore, but the kitty loves the graveyard.

My dog freaks whenever he sees a skeleton. Of course I chase him around the house with it. He'll kill me in my sleep one day. I just know it.

Our dog doesn't care about my props or cemetery but she hates the TOTers coming to the door. She was so stressed last year that it took her a couple days to get back to normal. It was her first year with us for Halloween. I am hoping that now that she is a year older she won't get so stressed this year. She likes to wear costumes but having strangers in costumes hollering "Halloween apples...TOT" in the yard all day is not cool.

I grabbed one of the motion sensor mice from the dollar store and my dog was terrified of it every time it squeaked. She would only come downstairs when someone was with her...and then do a large loop to avoid being seen by the mouse. She's gotten used to it now, and I find her pawing it or carrying it around the house in her mouth! Tough girl! Big decorations still freak her out though.

Last year a friend of mine gave me a 4 ft. tall witch. Her bottom half is made from an umbrella and she is very scary looking. I placed her in the kitchen and my dog would not stop barking at it. This year the witch is going outside with a cauldron and potion bottles. But the dog will probably bark at her through the windows. My dog will bark if she sees anyone when she looks outside. Most other props and decor doesn't bother her.

I put a static prop phantom in our hallway today, and our pug kept barking at it. I moved it into the spare room after I called him over to check it out first.

The other day I was standing by the door, getting my Manchester Terrier (Hambone)'s leash ready. Normally he is jumping about the height of my chest in excitement for his leash but this time he was standing way way back. I actually called him over there (I never have to do that) and he still didn't come.

A black funkin had rolled out of it's tub and was on the floor to the side between him and me.... I moved it and he was able to brave the kitchen hall again.

One of my cats is freaked out by my life size animatronics. Every time something starts talking and moving, her hair stands on end or she darts out of the room as fast as she can. :p

I will have to refer you to my post for the world's funniest pet scare! My hope was he would be so freaked out, that he would stop jumping on my kitchen table.
