That's a small joystick-type switch, so you can use it to control several outputs live. I did a quick search and someone did a blog post on using it:

You could substitute relays for the LEDs and turn on several different things (lights, props, air hoses, etc.) Imagine watching an area that people walk into and then using the switch to trigger a bunch of different effects.

Just an FYI for anyone reading this thread, that switch is momentary in all positions, and snaps back to center when released so it basically needs to be connected to some type of controller which would actually execute turning things on and off. The switch connected to relays without a controller would only be able to activate one thing at a time and only if the switch is held in a position for the length of time needed.
