Anyone having a tough time decorating in the heat?

We are having a heat wave here in sunny California, it's been in the mid nineties for the past few days. We've been trying to get our outdoor decorations up but we can't work outside most of the day. It's just too dang hot!! It also does not feel like October (more like July) so it almost feels weird to be decorating, but I'll do my best put on sunscreen and a hat and get out there tomorrow morning.

Anyone else having a tough time dealing with hot weather in October?

I live in the Imperial Valley in California (on the Arizona border). It's hot in October here every year. We do a lot of our decorating in the evening or even at night. I guess the advantage is that you get to see what your lights, decorations, etc. will look like in the dark from the beginning. Otherwise, I guess my only advice is to get what you can done either early in the morning, late in the afternoon, or only work an hour or two a day.

p.s. I just checked the forecast. 103 degrees for tomorrow, yay!

I hear ya. Here in north central Texas we had an unusually mild summer and now an unusually hot and dry fall. We did have gloriously cool temps this morning though so I got a lot done. By mid week we're supposed to be back to 90 again so I'll enjoy it while it lasts. I really really hate hot weather, especially when it intrudes on my favorite season!
They predicted flurries for us today. We didn't get snow, but we'll have frost overnight. It was cold and raw all day, and I'm hoping it warms up at least a little in the next week. There's yard decorating to finish. I also have things I want to spray paint, and latex props I want to coat with UV protection-- and I'd rather do that stuff outdoors.
You could send us about 10-15 degrees F of your extra heat!
I've been waiting for the chill that's finally moving in tonight. Now I can dress properly to start pulling the poison ivy growing in the front yard, even if I do have to do it within the first few hours after sunrise.

Worked on Haunt today but it was slow going, finally had to call it quits when glue sticks melted on work bench.
It's been hard for me to get motivated in Huntington Beach area. I'm ready for fall already! To damn hot

Its been raining everyday here in Fl since summer started, we finally had a reprieve the last few days however its been so hot and muggy, its stifling. Tomorrow is supposed to be high of 81 with 36% humidity, the best day of the week, so I am planning to setup tomorrow.

I usually do my setup at night because I dont do well in direct sun, but the skeeters seemed to have grown to the size of birds in the past few years and they ignore my bugspray. Its gotten so bad the things are even out during the daytime.

It was like 102 here today. We put up the stuff that goes up before the big day, but it wasn't fun.

We can send an inch or two of rain, and it sounds like Kittyvibe has even more to share.

It's frosty out now, but sunny, and I may put up the evil pumpkin patch trellis this afternoon.

It's usually hot when I decorate and it does suck to sweat when you are decorating. Today the high here is only 76, so I am going for it. After today it's back in the 80's.

Howdy neighbor! I pushed through yesterday to get the yard up but it was touch and go with the heat. I laid low in the shade as much as I could but it was bad out there. I did get all the stones and fence up (even did some repairs). Tonight will be adding some static props and lights. Where are you located? I wanna peek.
Hey neighbor! So you understand, this heat is crazy! We're on Budd where are you located? I'd love to see another HF's haunt.
Well, there are worse things than heat. This just moved into the backyard...

Well, last weekend it was a bit warm, 80's, stuffy, no breeze and quite humid when we decorated outside. This weekend...it snowed/rained and has barely hit 50 degrees for a high, lows in the 30's. Gotta love Illinois weather...
