I am going to do a female Han this year...so excited! I already have the shirt, pants (just need to add the blood stripes) and the boots. I'm now working on making the vest, but have no idea what to do about the gun belt/holster. I thought maybe I could make it, but it's looking like with the cost of materials, I might as well consider buying one.

Anyone ever do this character? If so, what was your experience w/ the belt/holster?

I made a pretty convincing Han holster a few years back out of an old carpenter's tool belt I bought for 50 cents at a garage sale. Took a little time to shape it because it isn't easy to cut through thick leather, but it didn't turn out half bad if you're not going for an exact replica. It would hold a Han pistol - which, by the way, I saw at Halloween Express (but you'd have to spray paint it black since it only comes in white and orange).

Thanks guys and thanks for the link. I might be able to modify that belt from the tequila man costume. That really helps give me an option! I finished the vest today (Yay!) So now it's just the belt/holster and getting the blood stripe sewn onto the pants.

LOL my friends did that last year. The wife dressed up like Han Solo, and her husband dressed as Leia. It was hilarious because he has a beard. I think they just wore store-bought costumes. Props to you for making yours! I really dislike buying store-bought costumes because they're just not unique. Who knows if somebody will walk through that door with the same costume. When you make it yourself, you know you'll be the only one.
