Went to my local Home Depot today to get some 3/4" foam and found out that they no longer carry it. They now only carry 2" in both the pink and the foil-backed. Went to the service desk to see if other stores in my area had it and no such luck - nothing within a 100 mile radius.

I tried Lowe's and could only find 2" and 1/2". Same issue at all of the other Lowe's locations. I bought the 1/2" but it's really not an ideal thickness and 2" is too thick.

I like the 3/4" for the majority of my props because it's a thickness that works for me and is obviously cheaper than the thicker sizes. Not cool at all.

Anyone else having this problem?

No idea, the Lowes website says they still carry it and there are 148 of the 3/4 inch available at my local store. Since it's still on the website (haven't checked HD), I would assume you can order it and have it shipped to your store for free.

Still working thru some inventory but do you have a Menards in reach? I was in there several weeks ago and noticed they have the thick stuff...2" and if memory serves - they even had what looked like 4" stuff. It seemed expensive but I guess if you do the math, one 4" sheet takes the place of a lot of the thinner stuff and saves a lot of extra cutting.

I’m looking for the XPS type of insulation. For my area, nothing comes up in a search for HD or Lowes.

I saw Menards has it but we don’t have those out here. I may try calling some contractors to see if they could order me some sheets the next time they place an order.

I would go and talk to someone at the Pro desk and see if they could order in the insulation that you want. The stores in your area or state may not have sold enough of that size so they may have stopped stocking it to make room for something else with better sales so it may have to be special ordered.

I actually called the Pro Desk this morning and they said they wouldn’t be able to help. They suggested two local builder suppliers so I called them and couldn’t get any help there either. They both said they don’t sell to the public.

My next call is to the company that insulated my attic a few years ago. Maybe they can help.

I'm surprised HD won't ship it from another store to yours....Those guys are always telling me they can do that with virtually anything....I'd try placing an order online and see how far you get that way....ZR

Just got off the phone with Home Depot corporate and they no longer carry this size. They said the link we're seeing to the product online is an old link. Looks like I'll just have to switch to 1". At least the woman I spoke to was a huge Halloween fan and could sympathize with my disappointment.

My guess would be that the recent building from both stimulated economy and the recent hurricanes have impacted the availability? I know the cost of lumber has gone up due to that.
