I was using Video2mp3 online converter before, but now they require registering, which I'm not comfortable with. Anyone know an safe alternative?

Yes- I've got a bunch of Pazera programs for converting different files, including 3gp (cellphone) to AVI, AVI to MP4, and one which strips MP3 files out of video files. I've also used some of the freeware online- there used to be one called MP3 4 U but it's no longer available, but this one: http://www.onlinevideoconverter.com/mp3-converter works decently. Firefox has several browser extensions which will do it very simply for you. As always be mindful of any copyright issues from protected works.
