I watch Svengoolie every week on MeTV!

Our horror host is Count Gore DeVol. He is a Founding Member of the Horror Host Hall of Fame.

He literally films his shows in his basement now. He also has his own movie about how he got started & what he's doing now. It's called "Every Other Day is Halloween." There's lots of other horror hosts in it too. He'll also help host Spooky Movie Fest at the AFI.

He's strictly online now but still kickin'! He will occasionally host horror events at the local AFI Theatre.

I recall meeting him for the first time at a horror con where Christopher Lee spoke, Forrest Ackerman was there, just all sorts of horror big wigs, but meeting Count Gore was practically tear inducing because I wouldn't have even been at that con if it hadn't been for the Count.

He also used to be our Bozo the Clown & hosted the afternoon kids cartoons/shows like The Banana Splits, Speed Racer, etc. as Captain 20. He was a Spock ripoff with the pointy ears, weird hair & the "live long & prosper" hand thing, but he resurrected the Count because he was his favourite & he was so well loved.

Me! I started watching this past summer when I got MEtv and I love him! I watch him every Saturday. I love that he has such great older movies, esp so many Bela Legosi ones.

RCAIG - I worked on a Don Dohler movie that Count Gore (Dick Dyszel) was in back in the 1980s, NIGHT BEAST. He's a pretty funny guy. I saw him many years later at a Haunt Convention outside of Philadelphia, this time in his full Count getup. Still plugging along!

BTW - yep, Svengoolie fan here as well. Unfortunately it starts at 11:00 p.m. on the Baltimorel station after the local news, so I rarely make it through the whole film...
