My first project was pneumatic... not exactly sure why at this point.
I also started by trying to scratch build simple controllers. They work well but were a bit of a pain and took a lot of time.
Then I got http://www.frightideas.com/picoboos/picoboo-ac.html for christmas last year and found that although they do cost a bit, proper controllers make for a nice overall effect.
I used to go to http://www.halloweenmonsterlist.info and google but now I find most of what I want to build here.
Every year the display gets a bit bigger and more complicated

Almost nothing for "electronics" made it sound simple, then with the understanding that if it moves you can turn it into a prop I started making stuff
