Okay, so upon looking at ton of craziness and hearing some not so good things about what most people had said here about Florida life and the Halloween Culture there. Another place that me and my partner are looking to move to is Nevada!

What's it like? I'm sure Vegas is CRAAAZZZY around Halloween. But... is it fun?

I know it's Dry and hot there... but I come from Michigan where our heat induces humidity. Yuck.

Is there much to do? to see. I know there's also burning man out there somewhere! that'd be awesome!!!

Thanks boyles and ghouls!

We stopped in Vegas 2 years ago at the end of September, and nothing was open yet, little surprised. Beyond that I cant say much.
WOW that's a bit concerning considering that they are a big city and all... and most big cities gobble Halloween up! I here that Cali is pretty damn early on their Halloween front! huh...

Entertainment is the name of the game in Nevada Some conventions discovered they were competing with every show ans slot machine as people who were there to be their customers found other things to do.
It also seems a few haunts set up out there expecting to do well, but once again, the same problem, except for the guy who has maybe been there the longest with his Haunt, he seems to have it figured out.

While I agree to a point, a couple of the casinos put on a haunted house, or were advertising they were going to. I don't understand not opening such a thing by mid September since the money invested in setting up and all. Ah well.

We were only there a night on the way to Cali, where we found a haunt about 5 minutes after getting there, not even looking, just across the street from where we ate.

You could always come to the state south of you ;). I've always wanted to see what Halloween is like in other states but never seem to travel around that time of year.

While Halloween is great, it should not be the most motivating concern of any relocation, in my opinion. If a person cannot find/afford housing and maintain at least a decent standard of living, what does it truly matter? My advice would be to make certain that the move is feasible and that you and your partner can live someplace the rest of the year happily. You do not want to be able to play the part of a hobo in a grand parade without having to resort to donning a costume, correct?;)

Excellent points. Detroit has dirt-cheap houses and some great haunts. but jobs are hard to find and most people don't want to live there.

And, with people who get seasonal affective disorder like myself... moving is one of the biggest things... I'm just asking about Halloween, as a side thought is all.. not the main reason for moving... I'm a bit smarter than that.

Do not move anywhere out west. We're overpopulated and aint got no water...STAY AWAY!!!

And haunting sucks here...there's probably only 6 haunters within a ten mile radius of my house that post on this forum.

It's just horrible here

Don't listen to him, make it 7 haunters! Water's gonna be sucked up by someone anyway, may as well be another haunter.

The house right across the street from me is for sale, I guarantee you 500+ trick or treaters! Or a place to come have fun if you want to take it easy for the year with the move and all.

Though I will miss all the house hunters stopping and staring at my yard wondering what the hell the chimera is.
