Last year Grandin Road had this fabulous skeleton-arm curtain tieback for way more than I could afford, and I resolved to find a way to make it myself!

This page gives a look at how it's set up, with a magnet in the hand and one to attach on the other side. I don't understand though how the arm-end should attach to the curtain. Any advice on how to rig this up? I am not very crafty, I actually have never attempted making my own prop like this so it will be a fun experiment.

Well the "Shoulder" of the arm should be attached to the edge of a wall correct? Or is the magnets used to attach it to a surface?

It seems like there should be a magnet attached to the wall, another magnet in the palm of the hand, and then the arm curls around to hold the curtain- no more than a couple of inches, maybe not even that- just an "elbow" and then maybe a flat section running to the magnet against the wall?
