I remember there was a guild that did presentations at the original HauntCon. I think they were called Scream Syndicate or Scare syndicate. In any case I am looking for a actor guild to get info from. I seem to remember that they had loads of training materials. Any help appreciated.

I'm shocked no one know anything about this group. Seemed real promising! They were eve building a database of actors for haunted houses at one point.

Hello Kermat. I remember something with an actor database. It was Haunted Connection. I am not sure if it is still current. The date on the website is 2010.

Here is the link http://www.hauntedconnection.com/

I am not sure if it will help. What types of training materials are you trying to get??? DVD's? Articles? Teacher to train your actors?

There was an older group in Ohio and a more recent group in Northern Illinois, I believe. Facebook probably has some kind of listings like you may be seeking?

ok--thanks guys

horrowman--that website is completely out of date and has no info on the actors anymore. It's not the one I was thinking of though.

You are correct. I wrote that the date was 2010. Glad it was not the one.
Are you trying to find actors or training aides???

training aids--we are completely volunteer--so finding actors is kinda whoever we can get to show up. It'd be nice to do some training of the regulars and make them more integral part of the show allowing us to design more complex scenes that would require there skills.

Thanks for the clarification. Working with volunteers does present some challenges. Here are some links to some info that may help you.

The great Ben Armstrong at Netherworld published an excellent article about character development. I love the info in this.
