Finished my giant spider for this year - posted the build pics in the tutorial section, but these are the almost-final pics:
You can see how big it is compared to my car parked right near it. I just had to do a little bit of paint touch-up after these pics were taken. There was a kind of cool, unexpected thing I found after putting it all together - some of the legs don't quite touch the ground, so the whole thing moves when the wind picks up. Almost looks like this arachnid is starting to actually move!
This was supposed to be my only project for 2017, but like many others on here, I couldn't stop at just one thing. I also couldn't resist getting the Home Depot gargantuan spider, so now I have figure out how I am going to display two giant spiders in my small yard!
