Here are a couple of new props I've made for this year.

The gravedigger and the werewolf - combo monster in a box/grave grabber.


The gravedigger raises and lowers the arm holding the lantern. The werewolf is a grave grabber that is mounted on a large version of a monster in a box. I will have a spotlight inside the box, along with a fog machine and some werewolf sounds. His eyes are also green LED's. It will be triggered by a motion detector.

Here are a few pictures of the gravediggers mechanism:

The motor is a blend door actuator, or the little motor in your car that changes the vents from defrost to vent. Linkage is a hanger and aluminium.

A $5.00 massager from the thrift store.

The "motor" for the werewolf is a Homedic massager that I bought at the goodwill store for $5.00. They had the one that I've seen most people use there for $10.00, but I like being ....frugal.
I'll try to dig them back out and get some video of the movements. The werewolf's massager has a forward and reverse, so I had to figure out which pattern I wanted the movement to go. I used plastic plumbers tape and some elastic to control the movements of the armature. Its a strong motor, enough that the werewolf's head looks like he is at a Metallica concert!!
The grave digger basically just raises and lowers the lantern. But since he is an old man, I really like the slow movement of the arm up and down.
