The 2016 Online prop building group is about to begin it's first build and the second is already scheduled! We need your help to ensure that we have a full schedule for 2016.

So what are you interested in building? Static props? Animated props? LED and lighting projects? Tombstones? Want to learn a new skill? Mask making? Learning to cast molds?

Projects can range from basic to more advanced.

How long do you think we should offer group builds? Our first is starting in February and wondering if we should plan to finish our last one in September or if that would be too much of a time crunch for everyone. We could also do some small projects toward the end too.

Are you interested in being an instructor? Right now we are focusing on projects that can be completed within a month but time can be adjusted for smaller or larger builds. Actually I'm considering putting together two small paper mache projects for one month where you can choose to do one or both.

Here is the schedule so far:
Feb - Paper Mache Pumpkin - instructor lizzyborden
March - Spider Levitator - instructor DaveintheGrave

Tentative (yet unscheduled)
paper mache skulls - replication and from scratch
skull molding

Thanks for your input and remember these builds couldn't happen without you! :D

I am pretty much interested in everything! But I would def be up for static props. I haven't actually made any animated props by myself yet so I would be up for those as well.
I'd love to learn some wiring and motor choices for simple, basic animation. If anyone is willing to walk us through a project like that, I'd be most grateful.
Our second project is animated and Dave is an awesome instructor so come and join us! :)

Would it be possible to have a lesson on making a foam latex mask?
If we can find an instructor, it will happen. :)

Ohhhhhhhhhhh This sounds interesting! ...and Dave is fantastic!
Thanks, but it may not be as glamorous a prop as it sounds, but I like it. I've posted it before calling it the "Spider Lifter". Here's a video of the original, and I've re-built it since then:

It's fairly easy to build and I'll show different variations and uses for it (hopefully).

Maybe Spider Yo-Yo might be a better name for it. :)

Honestly, I didn't know there was more than one way to corpse something lol! I have only read about plastic but if there
is more than one way--would love to learn!
I'm working on corpsing a pumpkin with paper mache now. I'll post a picture when I have it finished.

We still have some openings left for instructors!

Project 1 is underway and Dave will be posting the materials list for project 2 soon! They can be found in the Tutorials and Step by Step forum in the Prop Building Group sub-forum. Come join us!

It looks like the paper mache skull build will be in April though if someone would like to do a build in April, I can move it back. Right now we have July - September open. Would someone be interested in instructing a tombstone or mask making tutorial?
