first of 2 videos, i hope, of my black light illuminated shower curtains ... the 2nd has different images and also shows a few of my other black light reactive props ... and laser vortex ... but i'm having issues uploading it to youtube :-(

yeah, the video is unedited ... the camera had a hard time focusing ... i hope everyone likes this and cuts me some slack because it wasn't edited for something better ...

the shower curtains are attached to a cube which is suspended so that the wind gives it some "random" motion ... i think next year i'll probably use a motor to spin

the 2nd video shows both shower curtain sets plus some more of the yard ... and laser vortex ...

maybe i should delete the first video ... i'm tired and need my beauty sleep ... i'll revisit this again tomorrow ...

have a few more videos that i might up as well

I like the shower curtains - did you paint the images yourself?

AMK- your videos are fine! There are some videos here on the forum that sometimes I have no idea what I am looking at if I don't see the day video lol.

I always love all your black light effects. Is the black light behind the shower curtains?

I will have to check out artscow for some carnival posters and such I will need this year. Give me a shout out if they have a good deal....

Love your vortex too- perfect!
That vortex is Perfect!

All the shower curtains look amazing!

I really like the laser vortex, too. I've got one, but never used it yet. I'm still trying to come up with a safe way to use it in my yard.

Nice job!

there are 4 shower curtains attached to a square made out of 1"x2"x6' wood ... there is a black light inside about half way down inside ... the bottoms of the curtains are tied together at the corners and weighted down with a bottle filled with stones so that the wind doesn't blow them horizontally ... there is a string that is attached to tree limbs at the top in the center of the square so that the wind spins the contraption around :)

its really freaky standing inside and spinning them :) the moving images look way more 3 dimensional when they're moving ... next year i'm thinking of using motors to slowly spin them ... although at this point i'm not certain how as the whole assembly is fairly heavy and probably can't be hung directly off of a motor shaft without destroying the shaft bearing/bushing

what makes the shower curtain as effective is that the material is black light reactive and the image glows, because there is a bunch of white in the images ... i had some images printed that didn't have any white and the result was disappointing ... i had hoped that the white would glow through the color and make it stand out, but that wasn't the case ... so if you want to duplicate the black light effect with these shower curtains, only use images with a bunch of white in them

i've been meaning to build a laser vortex for ... for ever, lol! and finally got around to it this year ... of course it was a huge hit with the tots, young & old alike :) but i think i was the biggest fan ... i could stare at it for ever ... its just so kewl :)
