An un-edited video walk through of the 2015 appearance of Canyon Trail Cemetery. 30+ pneumatic props and several motorized props. New this year is the scissors mech Witch and Witch Hut, an extended facade and a Leering Skeleton on a coffin with a small skeleton coming out the side.
Wow oh wow! Absolutely amazing haunt! Prop placement is cohesive, the lighting is spot on and love the corn stalks as fillers. Extremely cool props and builds slanks.
Implausible + Freaking-Unbelievable + Insane-Amount of workmanship!
Your yard is the holy grail of Halloween display. Actually, all Halloween forum members should make a yearly pilgrimage to your house. Do you have any cold beer?
Thank you everyone for your kind words! Responses to some questions / comments:
*We have an 80 gallon compressor with about 100 gallons of additional storage
*We do have several neighbor families who come every night.
*While our electrical bill does go up some, the increase isn't that bad. The compressor is the main culprit. the Lighting is all LED. We spend more on corn stalks than additional electricity.
*It's over 150 hours of setup time between my Wife and me.
My Wife and I really do love making everything and putting it all together and we get phenomenal support from our neighbors and the city. We are always amazed at the number of people who come up to us and say visiting our house is an integral part of their family traditions. As I always say, 50 years from now, people are not going to sit around where I work and tell tales of the emails I used to send out or of the conference calls I used to facilitate, but there are kids who 50 years from now will tell tales of this really crazy family where they grew up.......
Unbelievable as always. Never noticed the skellies scaling the wall before. Love that touch. Also there's a hand projection on a stone that looked interesting too. Every year I see something I didn't see last year. What more can you ask for from a haunt like that?
A joy to watch. I can only imagine the lines of people you must have. What is your plan for protecting some of your props from the rain? Or do you just let it ride and let your cloth figures get wet?
Wow! What more can I say than that?!
Absolutely impressive and I love your reasoning for doing it. The memories your haunt will foster for years to come is a legacy in and of itself. Well done!
Thank you. We've been doing the skeletons on the house for several years, though a lot of people miss them. We almost didn't do them this year after the picture of skeletons on the house went viral on the Internet, but in the end we decided to deal with the comments from people thinking that is where we got the idea.
